Greenville, Maine – August 5, 1969
On August 5, 1969, a small amphibian plane with three people aboard crashed near the west branch of the Penobscot River as it was circling to land. The crash was in a remote area north of Moosehead Lake. A 40-year old woman was killed, and the other two were injured.

Greenville, Maine – August 23, 1947
On August 23, 1947, a seaplane belonging to the Moosehead Lake Flying Service with a pilot and three passengers aboard crashed into Moosehead Lake. Three of the men escaped with minor injuries, but the fourth, a 50-year-old man from Brunswick, Maine, drowned.

Greenville, Maine – May 11, 1973
On the night of May 11, 1973, a Cessna 402, (N-2985Q), carrying six people went down in a wooded area between Greenville Airport and Moosehead Lake. All aboard were killed in the accident.
The dead were identified as:
(Pilot) Claude Goodrich, of Epping, New Hampshire.
(Co-pilot) Paul Crawford, of Nashua, New Hampshire.
Passengers Stuart Kimball and his son David, 12, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Peter Cook, 41, and his 15-year-old son Forrest, of the Manchester-Concord area.
