Lenox, Massachusetts – August 6, 1965
On August 6, 1965, a lone 41-year-old pilot was flying a single-engine plane over the Lenox area when he was forced to make an emergency landing. According to witnesses, the plane appeared to be making a safe landing when it suddenly dipped and crashed into a small maintenance building on the grounds of a state highway office. The pilot was transported to a hospital in Pittsfield with non-life threatening injuries.
