At 2:40 p.m. on September 14, 1943, an SBD Dauntless, (Bu. No. 2868), aircraft was taxiing on runway 16 at the Quonset Point Naval Air Station.   As it was doing so it collided into the back of an F4F Wildcat, (Bu. No. 03390), that was parked on runway 34 about 100 yards south of the intersection of runway 10.  The propeller of the Dauntless chewed off the tail of the wildcat.  There was also damage to the Dauntless, but there were no injuries to anyone aboard the airplanes.
