Brunswick, Maine, Naval Air Station – May 17, 1944

     On the evening of May 17, 1944, a British pilot was making a landing at the Brunswick NAS in a Curtiss SNC Falcon, (An advanced trainer aircraft), when a wheel suddenly collapsed causing the plane to ground-loop and turn over.  The pilot was not injured, but the plane was badly damaged.

     On March 10, 1943, a U. S. Navy PV-3 Ventura aircraft, (Bu. No. 33949), ground-looped upon landing at the Brunswick Naval Air Station.  The aircraft required a major overhaul but the crew was not injured.
