Brunswick, Maine, Naval Air Station – May 17, 1944
On the evening of May 17, 1944, a British pilot was making a landing at the Brunswick NAS in a Curtiss SNC Falcon, (An advanced trainer aircraft), when a wheel suddenly collapsed causing the plane to ground-loop and turn over. The pilot was not injured, but the plane was badly damaged.
