Torrington, Connecticut – July 7, 1930
In the late afternoon on July 7, 1930, what was described as a “cabin monoplane”, with a pilot and two passengers aboard, was making a landing at Cary Field in Torrington when it was caught by a downdraft and crashed into a stone wall. The landing gear and propeller were damaged but the occupants were not injured.
The aircraft was based at the Bethany Airport.
