Saddleback Mountain, Maine – October 11, 2002
On the evening of October 11, 2002, a Cessna 182, (Reg. No. N100TY), with a pilot and passenger on board left Norridgewock, Maine, bound for Caribou. After arriving safely in Caribou and discharging the passenger, the pilot took off for the return trip to Norridgewock. Weather conditions were less than ideal, and the night was dark. At about 8:30 p.m. the plane crashed near the summit of Saddleback Mountain and the pilot was killed.
