Grenier Field, & New Salem, New Hampshire
November 13, 1942, and December 24, 1942.
Curtiss P-40, Ser. No. 11407
This aircraft was involved in two separate crashes. The first occurred on November 13, 1942, while the aircraft was assigned to the 318th fighter squadron at Grenier Field in Manchester, New Hampshire. The details are unknown but the pilot evidently made an emergency landing at the air field. (See the three photos below.) The plane suffered damage but was repaired and put back into service.

The second crash occurred on December 24, 1942, when the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on a farm in New Salem, New Hampshire. (There are no known photos of this second crash.)
In this second accident, the plane was damaged beyond repair and scrapped.
