Fitchburg, Massachusetts – April 16, 1975
On April 16, 1975, a 40-year-old pilot from Leominster, Massachusetts, was practicing takeoffs and landings at Fitchburg Airport with his recently completed home-built airplane when he crashed into a highway embankment about a half-mile from the end of the runway. The pilot was seriously injured and transported to Leominster Hospital.
