Hanover, Massachusetts – January 16, 1949

     On January 16, 1949, a 38-year-old pilot was attempting to land a mono-wing aircraft at the East Coast Airway field in Hanover.  Just as the plane had leveled off it was struck by a sudden wind gust causing it to crash.  The plane, which belonged to the Nantucket Flying Service, was badly damaged, but the pilot was not injured.

Hanover, Massachusetts – August 3, 1940

     On August 3, 1940, the pilot of a small aircraft was attempting a landing at Clark Airport in Hanover when the aircraft struck some power lines and crashed.  The plane was wrecked but the pilot escaped with minor injuries. 

     The type of aircraft was not stated in the press.
