East Haven, Connecticut – July 13, 1960
On July 13, 1960, a lone pilot was returning to land at the New Haven Airport when the plane suddenly lost all oil pressure. The pilot was forced to cut the engine and made an emergency crash-landing in a marshy area off Frontage Road in East Haven. The plane was severely damaged but the pilot was not hurt.
