Cheshire, Connecticut – September 29, 1941
On the late afternoon of September 29, 1941, a 23-year-old pilot and an unidentified passenger took off from Bristol, Connecticut. The aircraft was owned by the Engineer Aero Club of Bristol. About two hours after taking off, the plane clipped some telephone wires and crashed into a tree in the town of Cheshire about three miles north of Cheshire Center. Despite damage to the airplane, neither the pilot nor his passenger were hurt.
