Off Aquinnah, Massachusetts – May 1, 1958

     Very little information is available on this accident.  What is known is that a navy aircraft went down in the water between Cuttyhunk and Nomansland off Aquinnah.   The type of aircraft, and number of crew, or any casualties, is unknown.

     The search and rescue operation involved three aircraft, two helicopters, and two navy destroyers.  The following day it was reported that the search was called off, and that divers would inspect the wreckage.
