Nantucket, Massachusetts – September 4, 1961
On the evening of September 4, 1961, a husband and wife took off in a small airplane from the Nantucket Airport in foggy weather and disappeared. The wreckage of their aircraft was found the following day in a wooded area of Nantucket. There were no witnesses. The couple was from Manchester, Connecticut, and both perished in the accident.
The type of aircraft is unknown.
