Warwick, Rhode Island – March 22, 1947
On March 22, 1947, two small aircraft collided in mid-air over the state airport in Warwick. One plane was taking off while the other was in the process of landing. The collision took place 25 feet in the air. Both pilots were students, and both were transported to a hospital with broken bones and cuts.
