Turner, Maine – September 14, 1957

On September 14, 1957, a small pontoon airplane with three people aboard crashed while attempting to land on the Androscoggin River.  The plane flipped upside down trapping a  father and daughter inside, who both drowned.    A third person aboard, a 21-year-old man, managed to escape the cabin and clung to a pontoon until rescued.
