Tolland, Connecticut – March 22, 1947
On March 22, 1947, a 21-year-old pilot and his 18-year-old companion were in a small rented airplane passing over the Tolland area when they crashed in a small field. According to witnesses, the aircraft was circling a small field at an altitude of 500 feet when it suddenly dove to the ground. Both occupants were extricated from the wreckage, but died before an ambulance could arrive.
The couple was from Littleton, New Hampshire.
