Sunderland, Massachusetts – September 2, 1957
On September 2, 1957, a 24-year-old pilot rented a two-seater aircraft at Atwood Airport in Northampton, Massachusetts, and took off alone. Police believe he landed at a second airport and picked up two male passengers. After taking off again the plane crashed in an onion field in Sunderland killing all aboard.
