Southbury, Connecticut – April 20, 2005
On April 20, 2005, a single-engine Beech Bonanza aircraft with a lone pilot aboard was enroute from Ohio to Rhode Island when the plane developed engine trouble while passing over Connecticut. The pilot attempted to make an emergency landing at the Waterbury-Oxford Airport but didn’t make it. The plane came down in an open area just off Route 67 in the town of Southbury, not far from the Grace Meadows senior housing complex The pilot was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
