Presque Isle, Maine – September 13, 1931
Shortly after noon time on September 13, 1931, a small plane with two men aboard crashed in a potato field near the Presque Isle Airport. Witnesses said it failed to come out of a spin. The cause of the crash was undetermined.
Ralph Morritt, (22), manager of the Presque Isle Airport, was killed instantly. Raymond Stone, 27, succumbed to his injures at a nearby hospital.
