Norfolk, Massachusetts – March 26, 1949
On March 26, 1949, a student pilot and his instructor were flying over the Norfolk area when the plane went into a spin and crashed into a field. Both men were trapped in the wreckage for thirty-five minutes before being rescued by firefighters. The student told rescue workers that he was at the controls of the duel-control plane when the crash occurred. Both men were transported to a hospital for possible fractured skulls.
