Newbury, Massachusetts – August 17, 1985
At 11:33 p.m. on the night of August 17, 1985, a Piper Cherokee with a man and his son aboard was attempting to land at Plum Island Airport when the aircraft struck a tree, came down and then crashed into an unoccupied ultralight aircraft. Both aircraft suffered damage. No injuries were reported.
