Naushon Island, Massachusetts – April 29, 1967
At 12:30 A.M. on the morning of April 29, 1967, a Beechcraft 23, (Reg. No. N8728M) with four people aboard took off from Taunton Airport in Taunton, Massachusetts, bound for Martha’s Vineyard. They arrived safely at Martha’s Vineyard.
Later in the day they left Martha’s Vineyard to return to Taunton. About twenty minutes later the aircraft experienced mechanical failure and crashed on Naushon Island about a mile from Tarpaulin Cove killing all four occupants.
The crash was blamed on mechanical failure.
