Milford, Connecticut – August 4, 1947
On August 4, 1947, two young men were flying in a small aircraft over the Milford area when their plane struck some high tension electrical wires carrying 110,000 volts. The was an immediate explosion and flash followed by the plane bursting into flames and crashing in the Plains section of Milford. Both men were critically injured and transported to Milford Hospital in a police car.
