Meriden, Connecticut – May 5, 1951
On May 5, 1951, a small twin-engine dual-control airplane with an instructor and student pilot aboard took off from White Plains, New York, bound for Meriden Airport in Connecticut. As the plane was making its landing approach it struck some high tension power lines and crashed. The instructor was killed and the student suffered critical injuries. It was unknown which person was flying the plane at the time of the accident.
