Mendon, MA.- May 18, 1967

Mendon, Massachusetts – May 18, 1967

     On May 18, 1967, a Piper Cherokee with four men aboard crashed in a wooded area just after taking off from the Hopedale Airport.  The crash occurred about a mile west of the Bellingham town line, and a 1/4 mile south of Route 140.    

     All aboard suffered non-life threatening injuries.

     A witness told first responders that the plane’s engine had been sputtering before the crash.
