Mashpee, Massachusetts – August 15, 1965
On August 15, 1965, two adults and a child were flying in a single-engine airplane over the Mashpee area when they encountered thick fog. According to witnesses, the plane was seen flying back and forth at an altitude of about 75 feet over the New Seabury golf course apparently looking for a place to land. The plane crashed and burned in a wooded knoll and all aboard perished.
