Londonderry, New Hampshire – February 8, 1972
On February 8, 1972, a lone 28-year-old woman from Andover, Massachusetts, was making an instrument landing approach to Grenier Field in Manchester in a single engine Cherokee. It was snowing and darkness was falling. As the plane dropped low to the ground it caught a wire and crash landed in an apple orchard off High Range Road. The plane came to rest after plowing through several trees and losing a wing. There was no fire. The pilot was transported to a medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries.
