Hyannis, Massachusetts – August 25, 1956
On August 25, 1956, a Cessna 170A with four people aboard was approaching Hyannis Airport for a landing. At the same time, a Tri-Pacer aircraft with a lone pilot aboard was also approaching to land. At some point the two aircraft were involved in a mid-air collision. The Tri-Pacer landed safely, but the Cessna crashed killing all aboard. The dead included a 22-year-old pilot, a mother and daughter, and her brother-in-law.
