Foxborough, Massachusetts – May 28, 1959

     On May 28, 1959, a single-engine Piper Cub with a male pilot and female passenger aboard, crashed in a wooded area near the Lakeview Ballroom in Foxborough.  At the time of the crash the area was enveloped in thick fog.  Local residents later told investigators that the plane had been circling overhead for about twenty minutes before the engine cut out and then the sound of the crash.   The pilot was killed instantly.  The seriously injured female passenger was carried out of the woods by state police officers to a waiting ambulance.
