Foster, Rhode Island – June 29, 1935

     On June 29, 1935, a lone pilot was flying from Boston to Hartford when he was forced to make an emergency landing on the farm of Leon Stone, located on Shippee Road in Foster.  The plane had run out of gas causing the engine to quit.  The plane was badly damaged but the pilot was not injured. 

     The crash was investigated by Forster’s Chief of Police, James Wright. 

     The type of plane was not reported.
