Douglas, Massachusetts – August 27, 1939
On the evening of August 27, 1939, what was described as a “cabin plane” with two men aboard was forced to make an emergency landing in a field on a farm belonging to Mrs. Grace Caswell in South Douglas. The plane had left Grafton Airport for New York earlier in the day and was returning to Grafton when the landing occurred. Neither man was injured, but the plane suffered damage to the propeller and undercarriage.
