Derry, New Hampshire – August 1, 1968
At about 7:30 a.m. on the morning of August 1, 1968, a 41-year-old man was piloting a Piper Cub crop dusting aircraft over a farm in Derry. His job that morning was to spray insect repellent on corn crops at a farm on Old Auburn Road. As he was making a low “run” over the fields, the plane’s engine suddenly quit and the plane crashed nose-first in a nearby hay field killing the pilot.
