Danvers, Massachusetts – December 9, 1967
On December 9, 1967, a student pilot and his instructor were flying near the Beverly Airport when the engine suddenly stopped and couldn’t be restarted. The pilot attempted to make an emergency landing at the airport but didn’t make it. The plane clipped the top of a tree before crashing into a plowed field near a private home. The plane was wrecked, but the student and instructor only suffered minor injuries.
