Brownington, Vermont – July 31, 1957
On July 31, 1957, four businessmen from Newport, Vermont, boarded a small plane for a trip from Newport to Burlington. While in route the plane developed engine trouble. According to a witness, the plane was passing over a private farm when it went into a nose dive and crashed about 125 yards from the family farmhouse. All four men were killed but there were no injuries to anyone on the ground.
