Brewster, Massachusetts – July 24, 1960
On Sunday, July 24, 1960, a single-engine airplane containing a husband and wife crashed on the beach of Camp Wono in Brewster. It was speculated that they were flying low trying to attract the attention of their young daughter who was attending the camp.
Rescue workers freed the couple using acetylene torches. The wife passed away from her injuries four hours later, and he husband passed away on July 25th.
It was reported that the daughter did not witness the crash.
